His coat
is still winter thick – A bear
sniffing berries

Snowflakes fall
from a sunny sky
We are improbable

A cold wind
so hard my eyes hurt
Orphaned

The wind whipped
Christmas trash down the street
A lobster shell

My pup
shivers
First snow

Black poodle pup pokes
his face in snow
First laugh

Bulldozers depart
An empty
squirrel nest
