The sounds of hounds
in the distance

Monster truck race
Honking geese
flight song

Power couple
Asphalt and
the shifting alluvium

Bats blot
the sky
Legalese

Wind rolls
and swells and swirls the sound
Sleep

You step carefully
across the oars
The rocking skiff

Hounds
on the scent
Casino

Under the sycamore
Many seasons of
lovers’ glances

Rain
The sandy ravine is now
a clear stream

Rain
The muddy ditch is now
a muddy stream

Under the sycamore
Many seasons of
dead leaves
