Beloved garden
stones, long before
the strawberries

The petunias
Mouse
and hawk

Birds atwitter
Evening rain
then a raging stream

Rain
droplets
The bluebells

Two lovers
Those crawling
petunias

Waves rush
and foam
Seabirds hover

Young buck vanished
in the morning light – Startled
to read my bathroom scale

Dilapidated
fence, even the cows
step over it

The warblers
pass over, the cows
stand still

Grandfather’s hands
Each stone in the wall
placed and piled

Abandoned
asylum, an empty
barber’s chair
